Brand Identity
Sony is an internationally known brand that has brought and produced multiple
game changing products. Already having a VR type system in their product line,
these AR glasses provide players with multiple choices of augmented reality.
Sony Playstation in the AR/VR market
Over the past couple of years there has been a large rise in AR and VR products. AR and VR is used to bring out a new format of gaming to a large variety of gamers and creators. With the global AR and VR market size valued at USD 11.64 billion in 2021, it's projected to grow up to USD 227.34 billion by 2029. As a result Sony should have more of a focus on their AR/VR line.
Since Playstation already has a line of VR headsets and controllers, creating an AR set would come naturally to Sony. Here are some inspirations that accompany the existing brand identity used in all products.
Target Audience
Sony and Playstation have a growing target audience. Technology and games have a market that most people can join. The brand has a favorable demographic because of three main reasons: their is a consistent brand fan base, a growing market based on women, and a continual expansion outside the NA/EU/JP.
Ideation
Create a new product that fits with PlayStation's family product line. Rather than adding onto the existing features of virtual reality, I decided to emphasize augmented reality for the basis of my design. PlayStation has yet to implement such a feature.
