Ideations

Ideations were done using Illustrator as the medium. I started with 3 designs and ultimately chose the one that best fits the topic. Ideations have to include basic guitar controls.

Renders

Since Marshall has such a strong branding style, it was important to incorporate those into my design. Using geometric forms and physical analog controls, I made my amplifier look as similar to the other products in Marshalls line.

CMF: Redesigns

After finishing the final design for my amplifier, I wanted to show a new perspective in CMF. Using notable trends and directions I produced 3 new designs that follow their respected idea.

Color Palette: Playful

Inspired by 1970s era influences; 70s light shows and album covers as palette. Mimic that era into my redesign using recycled plastics as it can be colorful and cheaply sourced. Can be fun for users to live in the past

Color Palette: Studious

Studious is meant to honor the past. Referencing old school-at-home radio stations to bring speakers back to their roots. These products were almost always made up of wood and metal using digital analog screens/buttons. Using repurposed wood instruments these specific types of woods can produce more refined sounds compared to plywood/others.

Color Palette: Lustrous

There is a growing desire for metals that have longevity. As a result there are a lot of designers and brands that are experimenting with these materials and finishes. By reflecting the colors and finishes these metals bring a new premium look to the Marshalls product line.

Playful

The material is made up of plastic waste which can be locally sourced. It’s a fun way for users to personalize their speaker as each speaker will be one of a kind. These recycled materials are durable after heat treatment. Redesign is minimal keeping what's important so people can enjoy functionality.

Studious

Material is made up of repurposed woods, ceramics, and fabrics. Comes from tossed guitars, violins, and cellos for better sound. The outer layer will be made up from ebony and the inner shell walnut. The mesh will be made up of recycled cotton from thrown out clothes. A ceramic digital analog screen to mimic those at home radio stations. A steel chemical treated bronze button plate to complement the wood color palette

Lustrous

Longevity is the focus. Top quality metals that have brushed finishes and are chemically altered to get their color. Cold rolled steel mesh for refined sound quality. A steel brass button plate to go along with the overall color scheme.
